Sean Moran, a Watson Elementary School 5th grader, was among the letter literate students from public, private and religious day schools of all faiths across Nassau and Suffolk counties, who recently competed in the Long Island semi-finals of the annual Scripps Howard News Service Spelling Bee. Ninety-seven of these skilled spellers, among Long Island’s best and brightest youngsters in grades 4-8, participated in a timed, written spelling test which was recently administered at Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School.
