St. Agnes Cathedral School holds an Open House

St. Agnes Cathedral School threw open its doors and welcomed a record number of prospective students and their families to an Open House on Jan. 30 that coincided with Catholic Schools Week, which ran through Feb. 5.

Following the theme that Catholic Schools are an added value (“an A+”), St. Agnes’s co-principals Sr. Kathleen Carlin and Helen Newman were joined by other representatives to show visitors around the spacious and well-equipped building, and answer any questions they had. The Open House followed a special 9:30 a.m. Mass in St. Agnes Cathedral and a reception with refreshments provided by the St. Agnes Father’s Club in the Parish Center. At the same time, the St. Agnes Mother’s Club held a bake sale fundraiser, eventually selling out of products. Volunteers from each of the school’s organizations were available at stations in the cafeteria to paint a complete picture of all the school has to offer.

One day of registration took place at St. Agnes on Feb. 1. A snowstorm prevented the second scheduled registration day, which was moved to the next day, Feb. 3.
