For the month of September, Front Street Bakery will be donating a portion of its sales of special cookies and cupcakes to help fund ovarian cancer research.

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, and to help raise awareness, Front Street Bakery will be donating a portion of the sales from specially made teal-ribbon cookies — as well as cupcakes with a teal-colored chocolate ribbon on top — to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.

“We’re doing it in honor of our aunt, who died a few years ago from ovarian cancer,” said Lisa Acerno, who runs Front Street with her brother, Jeff Wohlfarth.

The special cupcakes and cookies will be on sale all month at the bakery, which is located at 51 Front Street in Rockville Centre. Customers can also just make a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the bakery.
