Celebrating Mother’s Day turned into a big event at Hewitt Elementary School. Students in Barbara Jay’s fourth grade class and Louise Sommers’ first grade class paid special tribute to their moms by hosting festive Mother’s Day teas in their honor. Deserving mothers in each classroom were treated to a delectable brunch featuring their teacher’s finest recipes, a heartfelt musical performance under the direction of Melissa De La Vega, and individual presentations of written tributes from the children. There wasn’t a dry eye in each house by the time the memorable celebrations came to a close.
