Valentine for Vets

Fourth grade students in Kara Spinelli’s class at Wilson Elementary School recently participated in the Valentines for Veterans program, creating cards to send to veterans at local VA hospitals. Many of these men and women don’t have families , so the children’s well wishes reminded them that the sacrifices they made for our nation are appreciated. To thank the students for their participation, Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony Santino, standing, center, visited the class. In addition to the students in the photo are teacher Kara Spinelli, standing in the back row, farthest left, Student Government Advisor Pat Meehen and Principal Thomas Ricupero.
