The St. Agnes lacrosse team started its inaugural season with a solid 6-2 win over Long Beach Catholic on April 7.

Playing at the Long Beach Recreation Center, St. Agnes jumped out to a 1-0 lead when their first ever goal was scored by Attackman James Crist - off a laser-like assist from Brendan Quinn. St. Agnes led 4-0 at the half with strong defense from Liam Hogan, James Sherry, Justin Jones and Kenneth Mulkeen. Goalies Jack Zullo and Zach Walsh were put to the test by Long Beach and fought off hard shots with great success. Zullo provided nine saves while Walsh had three saves. Team co-captains Luke Carlstrom, Sean Buchner and Patrick Doodian controlled the offensive ball movement for the STAGS with great passing. Kieran Fallon and Patrick O’Neill helped the STAGS  keep possession of the ball by winning more than 60 percent of all face-offs.  Brendan Quinn lead all players in points with four assists and one goal.  The St. Agnes LAX Team is a combined 7th/8th grade team.
