I had been pedaling for an hour and a half when I stopped cold. The view, quite simply, stunned me. It was 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 22, and I was three-quarters of the way through a bike ride up and down the asphalt path that runs along the Wantagh and Ocean parkways, from Nassau County’s Cedar Creek Park, in Seaford, to the Town of Oyster Bay’s Tobay Beach Park, in Massapequa. The entire ride, from Cedar Creek to Tobay Beach and back, was 17.6 miles. more

Water authority releases study

In 2010, people in Merrick, Bellmore, Wantagh and Seaford paid nearly five times more for tap water than people in East Meadow, Levittown, Lido Beach and Uniondale, according to an engineering firm working for the Water Authority of Southeastern Nassau County. Keeping the park clean

Whether it was dropped by humans or brought there by natural forces, there was plenty of garbage to be found in the Tackapausha Preserve last Saturday morning. A group of volunteers spent hours cleaning up the park, which straddles the Seaford-Massapequa border. more
