100 days smarter in Seaford

Posted

Seaford elementary school students celebrated the 100th day of the school year last week.

At the Seaford Harbor School, students from the four kindergarten classes, each wearing its own color, sang and used American Sign Language to perform five songs — “America the Beautiful,” “10 Little Snowmen,” “100 Children All in a Row,” “It’s 100,” and “We’ve all Been Counting.” They performed on stage in the multipurpose room in front of their parents.

Then parents and teachers assisted the children in making necklaces with 100 multi-colored beads and placing beads on a paper chart of the numbers 1 to 100. When the children went back to their classrooms, they drew pictures and wrote about their 100th day celebration.

At the Manor School, many kindergarten students dressed like they were 100 years old, while others wore “100” glasses and hats proclaiming that they were 100 days smarter.
