There are seven possible historic districts north of Lake-view Avenue in the Village of Rockville Centre, encompassing more than 870 historic structures. That’s according to Nancy Solomon, an architectural historian and folklorist who recently completed a cultural reconnaissance of the area.

As more funds come in for an inclusive playground at the John A. Anderson Recreation Center, Mr. B’s Playground draws closer to a groundbreaking date. Because of a new state criminal discovery law, the Village of Freeport will have to exceed the state’s 2 percent tax levy cap in 2020-21 and increase village taxes by 5.23 percent, which will amount to $187 a year, or $15.58 per month, according to tentative village budget documents.
