Hundreds of local folks stopped by Bellmore Village to watch the tree lighting and take horse-and-carriage rides. Families and friends gathered to take in the carolers and enjoy the night over cups of hot chocolate. The Baldwin Chamber of Commerce once again pulled out all the stops to bring Baldwin a joyous holiday celebration over the weekend. Cheerleading, pony rides, choral performances and reminders to “shop Baldwin first” characterized the well-attended event, and crowds enjoyed hot cider and donuts. Around 5 in the afternoon Santa and Mrs. Claus even made an appearance. The jolly couple rode in astride a vintage Baldwin Fire Truck and helped the crowd light the tree with their special Christmas magic. more
