About 100 runners took part in a 5K race at Hendrickson Park in Valley Stream on Saturday to raise money for charity.

A Black Tie 5K race (though normal running attire was recommended) was held at Valley Stream’s Hendrickson Park last Saturday morning hosted by MPower, the charitable division of Morrison Management Specialists. Money was raised for the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
Mayor Ed Fare kicked off the race in front of the pool complex by blowing the horn. About 100 runners participated in the event. There was also a non-competitive fun run and walk, children’s race and door prizes.
