An egg-citing afternoon at Wantagh Park

The gates opened and children flooded the playground at Wantagh Park for the Chamber of Commerce’s annual Spring Fun Hunt.
Wantagh High School Key Club members provided refreshments

The Wantagh Chamber of Commerce’s annual Spring Fun Hunt, appropriately on the first day of spring, drew more than 300 children to Wantagh Park last Sunday afternoon.
Snow that was predicted held off until night, giving children an opportunity to scour the playground for the 5,000 plastic eggs that were scattered throughout. Kids ran around and quickly filled up their baskets. They also got to meet several special guests including Winnie the Pooh, Spiderman and Peter Rabbit. Many children also went home with one of several raffle prizes.
The Wantagh Kiwanis Club and Key Club provided refreshments, and there was also an appearance by members of the Miss Wantagh Court, the Wantagh Fire Department and local elected officials.
