Authorities are searching for two men who were allegedly involved in an attempted robbery at a North Bellmore business.

Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are seeking the public’s help in identifying the two men, who were seen on security cameras outside a North Bellmore Dunkin Donuts. The men, officials said, tried to rob an unnamed customer on New Year’s Day.

Police said the victim left the store, at 1526 Newbridge Road, at about 4 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 1. The suspects left Dunkin Donuts at about the same time, and followed the victim, punched him in the face, and attempted to steal his wallet and cell phone from his pocket.

The man was able to run away from the suspects, officials said, and the pair fled. The suspects were described as black men, about 18 to 20 years old, 5-foot-10, 160 to 170 pounds, wearing dark shirts and pants.

Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information about this crime to call 1-800-244-8477. Callers will remain anonymous.
