Mayor Alan Beach soundly defeated Deputy Mayor Hilary Becker in Tuesday’s mayoral election, 3,330 votes to 974.
Trustees Ann Marie Reardon (2,971 votes) and Robert Boccio (3,045) were also re-elected to their seats as part of the New Vision Party with Beach. The incumbents defeated challengers Steve Ligouri (1,031) and Antoniella Tavella (881) — who were part of the Preserve Lynbrook Party along with Becker — and independent candidate David O’Neill (626).
Becker was in the middle of a trustee term and will remain on the board after a highly contentious race against Beach.
In a Facebook post, the New Vision Party’s page thanked voters for their support.
“Thank you to all of the voters who put your trust and faith in good government,” the post read. “We look forward to serving the Lynbrook residents.”
In East Rockaway, Mayor Bruno Romano and Trustees Rich Bilello and Gordon Fox ran uncontested, but it didn’t stop voters from turning out to show their support. Romano garnered 232 votes, while Bilello received 224, and Fox finished with 223.
