Atlantic Beach resident named to South Nassau Communities Hospital board

Anthony Ponte, of Atlantic Beach, was one of two people appointed to the board of directors of South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. Butch Yamali, from Merrick, was also named to the board.

Ponte is a partner of Ponte Equities, Inc., a New York-based real-estate management and investment firm with extensive holdings in New York City and expanded holdings across the U.S. Ponte Equities has more than 45 properties under management and has been a fixture across New York City.

He is the past president of the Atlantic Beach Estates Association and past president of the La Salle Military Academy Alumni Foundation. He and is wife, Wendy have two children. They recently became grandparents to Anthony Joseph.

“Both Mr. Ponte and Mr. Yamali have tremendous business acumen and records of leadership and commitment to the communities we serve,” Joseph J. Fennessy, chairman of South Nassau’s board of directors, said in a news release. “It is with great appreciation that we welcome them to our board and thank them for voluntarily dedicating so much of their time to help us fulfill South Nassau’s mission and vision to provide high-quality healthcare services to the residents of the South Shore communities of Nassau County and across Long Island.”
