Car parades have become a popular way for students and teachers to connect during the age of social distancing and isolation.
On April 6, teachers from Brookside Elementary School drove through the streets of Baldwin to greet students and their families from a safe and healthy distance away.
Brookside teachers prepared positive and uplifting messages for their students and community members and decorated their cars for the occasion.
At 11 a.m., the parade began at Brookside Elementary School, at 940 Stanton Avenue, and meandered through nearby neighborhoods before it finished off back at the school.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Shari Camhi and Brookside Elementary School Principal Unal Karakas took part in the festive car parade. Teachers and administrators waved to students and families, who cheered from their front lawns.
