The Island Park Civic Association hosted a meet the candidates night at the Island Park Library on Oct. 13. Five of the seven candidates that were invited appeared. Each was given a chance to introduce themselves, and explain why they are seeking office. After each presentation there was a brief question and answer session with members of the public who attended. Two candidates, Anthony Santino, running for Supervisor, Town of Hempstead, and Kate Murray, running for Nassau County District Attorney had previous engagements.
