Stanley Drucker joins student musicians in concert at Tilles Center

Stanley Drucker is the special guest soloist when the talented student musicians of Nassau-Suffolk Performing Arts perform at Tilles Center, Sunday, Jan. 31.

The Wind Symphony and Concert Band will perform at 3 p.m. in the Concert Hall (the main stage) with Drucker, who recently retired as the principal clarinetist for the New York Philharmonic. Drucker will solo with the Wind Symphony on “Introduction Theme and Variations for B flat, Clarinet and Band” by Giacomo Rossini. He also performs with the Concert Band in “Concertino” by Carl Maria von Weber.

The Jazz Band, Jazz Ensemble and Vocal Jazz Ensemble, present “An Evening of Jazz” at 7 p.m. at Hillwood Recital Hall. All three groups will play jazz favorites with the Jazz Ensemble playing Stevie Wonder’s “Send One Your Love,” the Jazz Band playing “Yardbird Suite” by Charlie Parker, and the Jazz Vocal Ensemble singing a Duke Ellington medley.
