Counting down to Christmas at St. Bernard’s

Posted

Wantagh, Seaford, Levittown and East Meadow residents will be stuffing their Christmas stockings with gifts that they purchased at the St. Bernard’s Roman Catholic Church Advent Craft Fair on Nov. 26.

The Levittown church, at 3100 Hempstead Turnpike, is about a mile east of the Wantagh Parkway. Residents of neighboring communities flocked to the market, which featured more than 60 vendor stalls filled with all new merchandise.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas organized and hosted the event, in addition to sponsoring a raffle. Local merchants and scouting groups also sold handmade holiday gifts, pieces of art and fresh wreaths to hundreds of local folks.

Parish leaders will host their annual Christmas Lessons program and carol service this Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The St. Bernard’s adult, folk, teen and children's choirs will all perform Christmas songs.
