District 13 seeks resident volunteer

The District 13 Board of Education is seeking a district resident to volunteer to join trustees William Stris and Joseph DiSibio as district representatives to the Nassau BOCES Budget Advisory Board.

Committee members review the Nassau BOCES budget and provide information about it to the district. The resident would have the opportunity to learn how the budgets are prepared, the district said.

Committee members must be available to attend meetings on three dates: Dec. 17, Jan. 12 and Feb. 4. The meetings are at 7 p.m. at the Nassau BOCES George Farber Administrative Center, at 71 Clinton Ave. in Garden City.

Residents interested in being considered for the role should contact District Clerk Patricia Brewington at pbrewington@valleystream13.com by Dec. 1. Board members will interview candidates in December.
