An East Meadow man who killed his wife pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge on Friday, Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas said.
Hector Bejarano, 54, of Prospect Avenue in East Meadow, admitted to beating his wife to death, Mirian, 52, with a dumbbell on April 28, 2015. According to a statement released by Singas, officers found Mirian lying on the floor unconscious after receiving a phone call. Bejarano had already fled the scene when officials arrived to the couple’s home.
Bejarano was at large for two weeks before being arrested on May 14 after he returned to his home to eat and do laundry. Prior to his arrest, Bejarano left a note confessing his crime to his daughter, leaving the note in her bedroom.
