An East Rockaway resident was arrested on June 30 and charged with making purchases with a debit card that she allegedly stole at Lakeside Elementary School in Merrick, where she works as a teacher.

Darcy Restivo, 49, allegedly stole the debit card on June 18 and used it to buy items that day and again on June 19, racking up charges that totaled $535, according to the Nassau County district attorney’s office. She used the card on three separate occasions.

When she was arrested, Restivo was charged with one count of felony grand larceny, three counts of petit larceny, identity theft and criminal possession of stolen property.

According to Nassau County police, the card belonged to another individual, and the district did not issue it.

She pleaded not guilty at First District Court in Hempstead on July 1 and was due back in court on July 12.
