Police identify man killed in Rockville Centre motorcycle crash

The Nassau County Police Department has identified the man who was killed in a motorcycle crash in Rockville Centre on March 19.

According to police, a 36-year-old man was driving a 2020 BMW motorcycle east on Merrick Road at 11:53 p.m. when he hit Scott Brower, 42, of Rockville Centre, who was crossing the road near North Forest Avenue. The driver was thrown from the motorcycle, and the motorcycle then hit a 2012 Honda Civic, which was also heading east on Merrick Road.

Brower and the motorcyclist suffered multiple trauma injuries and were transported to an area hospital for treatment. Brower was pronounced dead by a hospital physician at 1:40 a.m. and the motorcyclist remained in critical condition.

The driver of the Honda was not injured and remained at the scene after the accident. The motorcycle was impounded.
