Oceanside firefighters responded to a house fire on Carrel Boulevard on April 28. Thirty-five members of the Oceanside Fire Department — as well as mutual aid from Long Beach and Island Park — were at the scene of the blaze, which happened at 8 a.m.

The fire occurred at 3683 Carrel Blvd., in a boiler room on the first floor, a spokesman for the Oceanside Fire Department said. Firefighters were forced to pull up some ceiling in order to put out the blaze, after flames went up a pipe chase in the home. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal.

Three engines, a ladder and utility vehicle, along with an ambulance and two chiefs responded to the scene as well.

A spokesman said that one resident was home at the time of the fire and managed to get out safely. There were no injuries reported.
