Fourth Battalion Fire District officials and delegates sworn in at annual meeting

At the annual meeting of the Fourth Battalion Fire District, which encompasses the East Rockaway, Lakeview, Lynbrook, Malverne, and Rockville Centre fire departments, the newly elected officers and delegates for the coming year were sworn in.

John VanHouten, a former chief for the East Rockaway Fire Department and former Nassau County Fire Commission chairman, swore in Rockville Centre Fire Department Chairman John Hennig, East Rockaway Fire Department Vice Chairman Robert Klose, Lynbrook Fire Department Secretary John O’Reilly and Rockville Centre Fire Department Treasurer Mark Murray as officials.

VanHouten also swore in the delegates, who were elected by their departments to serve three-year terms. Dan Morgan of the Malverne Fire Department, Jim Henshaw from the East Rockaway Fire Department, Kevin Bien of the Lynbrook Fire Department and Mike Joyce from the Lakeview Fire Department were all appointed delegates. All five delegates have once served as chiefs of their respective departments.
