Girl Scouts get in the giving spirit

As part of their “Caring and Sharing” activities, Valley Stream Cadette Troop 2321 collected more than 40 warm coats, as well as hats and scarves, that the girls donated to the Mary Brennan INN in Hempstead.
The girls didn’t stop there. They hand-made more than 50 holiday cards to send to sick children through the Hugs and Hope for Sick Children Web site. Many children may not see another Christmas so the girls wanted to do what they could to bring them a little cheer now. They also chose one of those children and sent toys to him and his siblings so they would have an extra special holiday. The girls voted to use troop funds to purchase these toys, rather than spend they money on themselves.
