Homecoming 2010

High school pride

The threat of rain couldn't stop Rockville Centre's king and queen from showing high school pride and celebrating the Cyclones’ imminent 27-7 victory against West Hempstead at the school’s annual homecoming on Oct. 24.

Students, proudly wearing their school colors, marched from Sunrise Highway, up Long Beach Road to SSHS, led by the Homecoming Queen and King, both seniors. Students from each class accompanied their floats to the school and then cheered on their football team, even in the rain. And parents, faculty and village officials, including Deputy Mayor Chuck Joyce and trustees Edward Oppenheimer and Kevin Glynn, came out to support the home team and cheer them on to victory.
