Island Park Church to reopen

Town of Hempstead Senior Councilman Anthony J. Santino and Legislator Howard J. Kopel joined Pastor Peter Conforti of the Full Gospel Church of Island Park this weekend for the house of worship’s rededication ceremony after reconstruction from Hurricane Sandy was completed.

Pastor Conforti, Councilman Santino and Legislator Kopel spoke church members from Island Park and Oceanside who, in addition to losing their church for months, lost their homes.

Santino and Kopel not only welcomed Full Gospel Church back into the community with open arms, but spoke about the assistance their offices have provided homeowners and business-owners who have been impacted by Sandy’s destruction. Thanks to their work and continued advocacy, in addition to that of Assemblyman Brian Curran, over $1,000,000 in insurance claims that were not initially going to be paid to victims by their insurance providers has been released to policyholders.
