Hundreds of police officers flooded the streets of East Meadow earlier this month, but not for arrests, rather, to run for a cause.
The 26th annual David Lerner Associates Long Island Police Appreciation Run drew law enforcement, supporters and runners from across Long Island, New York City and the tri-state area on June 8 to East Meadow’s Eisenhower Park for its 5K tradition. The run, hosted in conjunction with the Greater Long Island Running Club, raised funds to benefit local law enforcement organizations.
The race included a special bravest/finest awards, along with top three male and female finishers, top three male and female masters finishers, and top three male and female finishers in their respective age categories.
