Lemons to Love

Summer! A time for enjoying a swim in the pool, making sandcastles at the beach and just hanging around with friends. These trios decided to have a kid favorite and make a lemonade stand on a hot day. What makes this event so special is the girls came up with the idea of raising money for the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh.

All three girls are active members of Girl Scout Troop 3537. Neither of them are strangers to community service. When asked why they chose to donate the money to the animal shelter, all three of them said they just wanted to help the animals. The girls raised $41.75 in just two short hours. The staff members at the animal shelter were extremely proud of the selfless act these eight year old girls accomplished. Congratulations girls on a job well done!
