On May 21, the Lions Club held its annual Dinner in the Dark, raising more money than it ever had before.
The sold-out event, the largest the Lions had ever put together, raised nearly $25,000, which is all funneled back into the community through local charities.
The evening is unique in that guests eat dinner while wearing blindfolds so they can learn how something as simple as eating a meal can be challenging for those with visual impairments.
The fundraiser is also a chance for the Lions to honor influential members of the community. This year’s honorees were Michelle Sewell and Wayne Lipton.
