Long Beach FD battles West Park Ave. blaze

The Long Beach Fire Fepartment operated for 36 hours during Hurricane Irene and its aftermath. They fought two working house fires in flooded conditions, including one located at 1085 West Park Ave. The LBFD responded to a report of smoke coming from the house. When the fire chief arrived, it was confirmed as a working house fire. With the quick actions of the fire department, the rest of the house was saved from further damage.
