Although spring just started, winter weather remains. A fast-moving snowstorm dumped up to 6 inches of snow across Long Island Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. today. Snow was expected to fall at 1 to 2 inches per hour, and roads could be slippery with reduced visibility.

Wind chill was expected to be between 25 and 35 degrees in Long Beach Monday afternoon, the NWS said. Monday evening’s forecast is partly cloudy with a low of about 35 degrees.
