For the second time in two days, Lynbrook firefighters and police officers responded to a car crash with an overturned vehicle.

The latest accident was on June 5, when an SUV collided with another vehicle at the intersection of Merrick Road and Ocean Avenue shortly before noon. The SUV overturned onto Ocean Avenue and the second vehicle had minor damage.

The driver of the SUV and a young child were not seriously injured and were able to get out of the vehicle. The roadway was closed for about 45 minutes.

The accident came just a day after two people were injured when an SUV overturned after a multi-car accident on Sunrise Highway, west of Peninsula Boulevard, on June 4 just after 8 a.m. The driver collided with five parked cars and hit a pedestrian.

The driver and pedestrian were transported by North Shore University Hospital ambulances to South Nassau Communities Hospital, in Oceanside, in stable condition.
