Robert M. Hodge, the son of Marianne Hodge of Rockville Centre, a staff sergeant in the United States Army, recently returned to the states after completing his second tour of duty in Iraq.

Hodge received the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in a combat zone with exposure to the risk of hostile action during Operation Iraq Freedom.

A graduate of the U.S. Defense Language Institute in Monterrey, Calif., Hodge majored in Arabic.

He plans to re-enroll this September at George Washington University to pursue a degree in Middle Eastern studies, and eventually hopes to work for the FBI.
