The Long Island Philharmonic and Music Director David Stewart Wiley kick off the spring season with “Mozart and More,” Sunday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m., at Hofstra University’s John Cranford Adams Playhouse. The Philharmonic will perform Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante for Violin, Viola and Orchestra in E-flat Major. LIP principal musicians Erica Kiesewetter and David Creswell are the soloists. “This is one of Mozart's greatest works, and that is saying a lot,” Maestro Wiley said. “The middle movement in particular is among Mozart’s most beautiful utterances.” The Orchestra will also perform Kodály’s energetic Dances of Galánta, Rachmaninoff’s gorgeous Vocalise, and the famous and rousing Overture to Rossini’s opera William Tell. Tickets are $85, $68, $50, and $38; available at (631) 293-2222 or www.liphilharmonic.org.
