Nassau Police seek public's help to solve Merrick grand larceny case

Posted

In August, an unknown suspect broke into a vehicle parked outside Xtreme Gym, at 2119 Merrick Road in Merrick, while the vehicle’s owner was inside the gym. The burglar or burglars stole the owner’s pocketbook and its contents.

Later, two individuals used a credit card from the pocketbook to make a fraudulent purchase at Target, at 999 Corporate Drive in Westbury. Video cameras at Target captured images of the pair. They left Target in a blue, beat-up pickup truck with chrome running boards and a chrome ram bar on the front grille, according to the Nassau County Police Department.

Last week police officials distributed a photograph of the suspected credit card users leaving Target and are asking for the public’s help in identifying them. Police encouraged anyone who can identify the two people pictured below or who has any information about this case to call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-244-8477. Crime Stoppers callers can remain anonymous. There is a maximum $5,000 reward for valuable information.
