Police: Oceanside man threatened neighbor with shotgun

An Oceanside man was arrested early Monday morning after he allegedly threatened a neighbor with a shotgun, according to police.

Officers reported that a Pearl Street resident answered their front door on Sept. 16 at 12:56 a.m. to find Ryan Mueller, 26, pointing a shotgun at them. Mueller reportedly fled the scene after the resident closed the door on him.

After being notified of the incident, police found Mueller at his Davis Street home, and after searching the house found illegal weapons including two assault rifles, six high capacity magazines, a long gun, a switchblade as well as illegal fireworks.

Mueller was charged with eight counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, two counts of criminal possession of a firearm, one count of second-degree menacing, one count of fourth-degree possession of a dangerous weapon, one count of fourth-degree possession of a weapon and unlawfully dealing with fireworks. He was arraigned on Sept. 17 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
