Nassau County Police say they have uncovered a marijuana "grow house" at a rented home at 2828 Alder Road in Bellmore.

According to authorities, police arrested two men –– Thomas Micciulli, 23, and Joseph Micciulli, 26, both of Freeport –– for possession of marijuana, and the arrests led to discovery of a hydroponic growth system inside the house.

During an investigation, police said they observed Thomas Micciulli enter the Bellmore home with a knapsack on July 12; he left shortly after with the knapsack and got into a Honda and drove away. Police later stopped the car, and detectives said they found about three pounds of marijuana in the knapsack.

At the same time, detectives observed Joseph Micciulli leave the house with several large manila envelopes. Detectives said they stopped him and found about two pounds of marijuana in the envelopes. Both brothers were then arrested.

Detectives raided the Bellmore house with a search warrant on July 13. Inside, officials said they found 10 pounds of marijuana, as well as the growth system.

Both men were charged with criminal possession of marijuana in the first degree and criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree.
