Professor Francis Angelilli

Longtime Atlantic Beach resident Francis Angelilli (Angell), a professor of Business and Finance at New York University's Stern School of Business for 44 years, died on Jan. 15. He was 90.

During his 44 years at NYU, Professor Angell was recognized with many awards and accolades, including being voted the honor of "Great Professor" by his students.

Professor Angell's wife of 63 years, Josephine Danza Angelilli, died on March 3, 2004. He is survived by his children, Marietta (Larry) Schiff, and Peter (Arlene) Angelilli, and sister Theresa Leuschne. He is also survived by grandchildren Dr. Bradley Schiff, Jennifer Roff, James Schiff, Lauren Angelilli, Jeff Preston, Elizabeth Levine, Ronald Levine, Dr. Allison Angelilli, Evan Boulukos, Jonathan Angelilli and Kristen Angelilli, as well as great-grandchildren Josephine and Annabel Schiff and Ella Jean Levine.

A funeral mass was held at St. Anastasia Church in Douglaston.
