Rockville Centre resident Kevin Cirronella, a senior at Kellenberg Memorial High School, represented the New York City District of the National Forensic League in the Lincoln-Douglas category at the National Championships from June 13-18 in Kansas City.

In a supplemental extemporaneous debate category at the nationals, he finished in the top 30 out of 580 competitors.

Kevin placed first at the qualifying tournament in February at the Bronx High School of Science against top debaters from other Long Island schools as well as those from the five boroughs.

Kevin also qualified for the Catholic Forensic League’s National Championships and is among the top 40 debaters in the nation.

He is set to debate for the #1-ranked Wake Forest Debate Team in September.
