Rockville Centre goes to the races

Hundreds of people from across the country came to Rockville Centre last weekend to run in the village’s 38th Annual 5K, 10K and Family Fun Run.

Village streets were bustling all morning as runners from as far as California made their way through the village for the annual race.

John Fullam, of New Paltz, was the first to finish the 5K, with a time of just 16:42. He was followed shortly after by Matt Rand of Peaks Island, Maine, who finished the 10K in 31:15.

In addition to the first-place overall finishers, the village awarded trophies to the top finishers in a variety of different age groups for both men and women. And all of the kids who participated in the one-mile Fun Run received trophies as well.
