Community events

Newcomers Club Couples Night

Village residents are invited to join the Rockville Centre Newcomers Club on Nov. 6 at Cabo from 8-10 p.m. for a Couple's Event. Check out the group’s new Web site at www.rvcnewcomersclub.com for more details.

Baby supplies drive

On Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., the St. Agnes Youth Group will collect the following baby supplies for those who are less fortunate: disposable diapers size 4 or 5 ( medium); pull ups size 4 or 5 (medium); crib sheets - new or gently used; boxes of baby cereal. bags or boxes of pasta/noodles. Monetary donations will also be accepted to purchase needed items. The drive will take place at the St. Agnes Parish Center on N. Village Avenue.

An Almost Roadshow

The Rosa Lee Young Childhood Center in Rockville Centre is holding an appraisal fair on Nov. 8 between 1:30 and 5 p.m. at the St. Agnes Parish Center on N. Village Ave. The community is invited to bring antiques, collectibles and heirlooms. The $10 entrance fee includes one verbal appraisal and $10 for each additional item. Kristallnacht commemoration

The community is invited to a free musical program, “I Remember,” on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in commemoration of the anti-Jewish pogrom in Nazi Germany known as The Night of Broken Glass. The performance, based on excerpts from The Diary of Anne Frank, includes parts for mezzo soprano, flute, cello and harp. For more information, call (516) 766-4300.

SSHS Alumni meeting

There will be a meeting for all alumni of South Side High School on Nov. 10, 7:30 p.m. in room 120 at the high school.

Music Therapy Workshop

The Rebecca Center For Music Therapy at Molloy College will host a free workshop, "Parents as Partners in the World of Music Therapy and Autism" on Nov. 10 at 6:30-9 pm, the the Kellenberg building Reception Room .
