Board meeting
The Long Beach Board of Education will hold a regular meeting at the middle school at 8 p.m. on Nov. 10.
Parent meeting
Underage drinking
The Long Beach Middle School guidance department will host an important parent information meeting at the school at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 4. Judi Vining, coordinator of the Long Beach Coalition to Prevent Underage Drinking, will facilitate a discussion about underage drinking, drug use, peer pressure, curfews and house rules. All middle school parents are urged to attend.
ESL/dual-language family program
The disrict invites all families of children in the English as a Second Language (ESL) and dual-language programs to join the new Bring Your Parents to School Language Immersion Program. Registration is on Nov. 7 from 9 to 11 am. at Lido Elementary School. There will also be a Family Fun Night for families of ESL students in grades K to 12 on Nov. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the middle school For information call 897-2027.
High school drama production
The high school theater department will present Neil Simon’s “Laughter on the 23rd Floor” from Nov. 19 to 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.
