Seaford teens reach out to sick kids

Posted

Seaford teens care, according to library leaders. That’s why they participated in a special project designed to brighten the days of hospitalized children.

The Seaford Public Library housed the program, called Teen Cares, on April 28. Middle and high school students made cards and banners for children staying at the Stony Brook Hospital Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinic.

With markers, scissors, construction paper and glitter, several local teens crafted and performed community service simultaneously. Some cards included birthday greetings, while others offered words of encouragement.
