Reach For The Stars Talent Showcase
Experience Long Island’s version of “American Idol,” when 25 aspiring teenage performers demonstrate their talents. Linda Mangano, wife of County Executive Edward P. Mangano, serves as mistress of ceremonies at Nassau County’s “Reach For Stars” Talent Showcase, where a prestigious panel of music industry experts will choose first, second and third place winners. See some local teenagers shine, including Alexandria Bottiglieri, 19, of East Rockaway; Toriann Butler, 16, also from East Rockaway; Valley Stream’s Amanda Einemann, 16, and Michael Haggerty, 13; Cassidy Heide, 16, of Oceanside; Mary Beth Hourihane, 14, representing Franklin Square; Merrick’s Lauren Lamonsoff, 14; and East Meadow’s Sara Beth Lieberman, 15, among others.

Summer Birds
Surround yourself with the vibrant colors – and birds – of the season on a guided tour of Muttontown Preserve. This walk through some of the preserve’s 550 acres explores thickets, small meadows and wetlands as guide describes the variety of birds who reside there.

Conductor Jack
Toot! Toot! Join “Conductor Jack” Zinghopper in his high-energy live show, featuring fun, interactive pop music for kids by the “rising star of the preschool entertainment world” (Washington Post). The show will have audiences singing, dancing and, of course, hopping along with Conductor Jack and his friends Penelope the Possum, Olo the Donkey and Coconuts the Kangaroo.
