Speno Park basketball court gets an overhaul

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 16 to celebrate the resurfacing and relining of the basketball court at Speno Park.

“East Meadow’s Speno Park is home to hundreds of pick-up basketball games every year,” said Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray. “And by updating the courts with new lines, as well as a finer and smoother surface,

Speno’s basketball courts will once again be ready for players of all levels.”

“East Meadow is home to an active youth community,” added Councilman Gary Hudes. “And this resurfacing of the basketball courts will undoubtedly add to the draw of Speno Park.”

With a state-of-the-art-surface and newly striped court lines, the facility will attract “hoopsters” of all ages from the East Meadow community.
