Student artists shine

Freeport School’s Summer Academy of the Arts culminated its program with a comprehensive showcase of student’s work and skills on Friday, July 31 with “Motown.” Two hundred and fifty students supplemented their school lessons this summer with extra exposure to wind and string instruments, choral music, musical technology, visual art, dance and theater.

The Summer Academy of the Arts 21st Century program is designed to enhance and accelerate learning of various arts-related courses and lessonsy for students in fourth- through eighth-grade.
