The Hayes family says 'thank you' to the Bellmore-Merrick community

The following letter refers to the deaths of Sherelle and Thomas Hayes on May 1:

The enormous amount of love and support we have received from the community has been most humbling. The comforting words, thoughts and prayers from people throughout the Bellmores and in surrounding areas have been unbelievable.

The outpouring of help and support from the school district, community and individuals is greatly appreciated. We send our heartfelt thanks to all who gave so generously in this time of need.

There will be a fundraiser for the children's fund on June 7 from 8 p.m. to midnight at Cassidys in North Bellmore. There will be a $5 cover charge at the door, 50/50 raffles and more. All the proceeds raised, including tips, will go toward the Hayes Fund for the children.
