Malverne summer rec registration
Wed. May 17 at 7 pm, Malverne Village Hall, 99 Church St. Don’t miss registration for Malverne’s summer rec program — one of the best summer bargains for childhood fun. The program —for kids entering kindergarten through 8th grade — will run from July 10 - August 17, Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. – noon. An application, photo permission slip, proof of child's age, proof of residency and payment must be presented upon registration. The village is also seeking camp counselors. Atlantic City Bus Trip
Wednesday, May 17, arrival time 8:15 a.m. Malverne American Legion, intersection of Legion Pl. and Franklin Ave. in Malverne. The Malverne American Legion is back with another trip to Caesar's casino in Atlantic City. Meet in their parking lot by 8:15 a.m. for free parking, rolls, bagels and more before departure. $40 per person includes $30 in gaming vouchers. Call Bob Guarneri 483-5631 or John Hassett 887-7473.

Long Island Chess Nuts
Wednesday, May 17, 6:30-7:30 pm West Hempstead Public Library, 500 Hempstead Ave. A teacher from Long Island Chess Nuts will teach, play, and help everybody who would like to learn how to play chess or improve their game. For children in grades 1-5. Registering for one date will enroll you in all remaining sessions on May 17, 24, and 31. Free.
